Case Builder makes the public-record parts of legal research usable by anyone dealing with a residential tenancy dispute in Ontario: the decisions of the Landlord and Tenant Board, searchable, readable, and citable.

Citing a decision

Every order page carries a citation box in the CanLII style: source, date, file number, and the citation with a permanent link and the date you retrieved it. Newer orders print their own neutral citation (for example 2025 ONLTB 1390); older ones are cited by the parties and the file number. The permanent link casebuilder.ninja/o/<number> is short because the path is short, not because it goes through a link shortener.

Where the decisions come from

The Government of Ontario publishes the Board's order catalogue as open data under the Open Government Licence – Ontario. Case Builder rebuilds its copy from that catalogue and shows only what the catalogue and the orders themselves contain. It holds none of the firm's own client information.
